After years of performing in numerous Reggae bands, the members of ARTIKaL Sound System joined to create a group with a fresh sound inspired by the South Florida Reggae scene. In September of 2012, they debuted their self-titled EP which blends Reggae with Hip-Hop, Dancehall and R&B. Their six-track EP includes a Jimi Hendrix dub and is available for free download. To kick off their EP release, ARTIKaL launched a United States East Coast tour and performed internationally in Peru.

ARTIKaL has collaborated with some of the most influential musicians and artists in the Reggae scene, including RedLyte, The Abbysinians, Apple Gabriel of Israel Vibration, and two decedents of Bob Marley himself – Alex Marley and Biggz General. The band has had the honor of sharing the stage with Pepper, Dirty Heads, The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Yellowman, Less Than Jake, The Aggrolites and Jesse Royal.

In 2015 Inversions was released which peaked at #2 on the Reggae Billboard chart. Inversions is a mixture of roots, rock, reggae and features Chris Montague and Chris Cope on lead vocals, with special appearances from Menny More of Easy Star All Stars and Cadet-Yo of Deadbeat Writers Lab.

In October 2015 Dubversions was released which also peaked at #2 on the Reggae Billboard Chart. Dubversions is a remix of Inversions in a classic Rub-a-Dub Style. The band supported it with the Sunshine Tour and even got the attention of the Jamaican Observer.

In August 2016 the single “Walk Away” was released exposing the new sound of the much anticipated EP Smoke and Mirrors.  The band has joined forces with singer/deejay Monsoon. A native of Northern Clarendon in Jamaica, the veteran singer-songwriter’s vocal ability has been compared to reggae veterans Capleton, Luciano and Tony Rebel. Be on the lookout for the new EP to be released late 2016.
